REMINDER: Conference approaching, deadline for registration is 29 October. There are even some scholarship funds being provided for those in need (contact me for details). Don't miss this remarkable opportunity!
It is with tremendous joy that I announce to you a conference that has been arranged by a group of wonderful (and generous!) folks:
Whether it was before or after February, 2009 (the month of "The Big Reveal"), we have all been affected by the Regnum Christi Movement. Several former members in Atlanta are hosting a one-day workshop to help work through and deal with our LC/RC experiences. Even our closest friends and family cannot fathom what we have been through, but other former members DO. A lot of healing comes from our knowing we are not alone.Join us for a one-day workshop for former Regnum Christi members (including consecrated) and former Legionaries only. Registration is limited to 100 participants. Cost is $60 per person.
Folks, here is an opportunity to meet, to laugh and cry, to turn those cyber-hugs into the real thing! Who will be there, you ask? Well, for starters, these speakers:
- Rev. Thomas Berg, PhD, Professor of Moral Theology at St. Joseph's Seminary, Yonkers, NY
- Michael Langone, PhD, a clinical psychologist and an authority on group dynamics
- Mary Kochan, Editor-in-Chief of www.CatholicLane.com, and a convert to Catholicism from Jehovah's Witness
- Genevieve Kineke, writer and founder of the blog www.life-after-rc.com
Great idea!

I so wished I could come.....

I am sure it will be an amazing occasion for all - a similar occasion in Nov 2004 (time flies!) was had by www.regainnetwork.org
I met Giselle there and others, and I must say that it was a HEALING and CATHARTIC experience for me.
A life changer.

Excellent initiative. Congratulations for the speakers. Wish you the best and hopefully those of us who will not be able to attend could benefit from some of the materials.

Any chance this will come to the DC area?

If you build it, we will come.

I'm going to miss it by just a couple of weeks. Hope to get home for Thanksgiving.
I would be willing to pay to download the conferences. Any chance?

I'd watch the conferences too. I can't attend the event, but I wouldn't like to miss such great speakers.

Congratulations for this great initiative!

Anon out of Rc, I'd be happy to help get something like this to the D.C. area.
I'm so frustrated because RC and LC programs are becoming more and more active in our parish. Fr. John Hopkins,LC is going to start back up with Men's Evenings of Reflections. Of course nothing about him on the flyer, I only found out it was Fr. John when I asked who would be giving the talks. The Parish Men's Group is sponsoring the event so no need to put anything about Fr. John or his connection with Legionaries. Sneaky huh. He's a great speaker, so no doubt will draw a big crowd.

Melissa, at my parish, LegRegs used to have free rein. We thought we would never get them out of there. But finally our pastor is refusing to allow their events. Thanks be to God. I credit the change of heart to a group of parishioners who were relentless in expressing their concerns, and updating our pastor every time new scandalous details emerged about LegReg. It finally got through to him.

Thank you so much for offering this event. We go to St Brendans in Cumming,Ga and the Bishop handed our Church over to Leg of Christ. We all feel very hopeless as we see our Church completely LC/RC.
Posted by: concerned father | September 23, 2012 at 08:32 PM
concerned father. sad indeed. your church has been overrun by catholic leaches. LegReg is much too loose of a term to adequately warn the vulnerable.
how does one heal when the church continues to approve the existence of financial and spiritual bloodsuckers?
they haven't changed a thing...

Great news! Will be praying!

" respect for the human person, discerning the will of God, vocational discernment, "good fruits", recognizing manipulation in groups and individuals; authentic spiritual direction and free will; and forgiveness"
THAT.IS.CATHOLICISM.
The only possible charism that could every unite those who remain in the LC/RC would be to embrace exactly what MM formed them to avoid at horrific costs.
Will be praying for the conference and attendees.

Les; can you explain why your pastor decided to restrict them and why he allowed them to come in in the first place? What is the mission of LegReg? Is it to take over all parishes??
Posted by: Dingledore | September 24, 2012 at 03:59 PM
I seriously don't know if their mission is to 1) make $; 2) make priests; 3) elect a conservative right official; 4) take over parishes so they can brainwash; 5) make women obedient; 6) change this country so it becomes all Catholic with orthodox rules galore. This world would be pretty mean if we all acted like Stepford wives.
Posted by: Dingledore | September 24, 2012 at 04:12 PM
@Dingledore - my guess - he was as duped as anyone else, then when more and more parishioners reported their bad experiences, he put an end to their activities on his turf.
Posted by: les | September 24, 2012 at 06:45 PM
Dingledore, to what are you referring as "orthodox rules"? Can you site examples of what you mean? Isn't the definition of orthodoxy is "conforming to the Christian faith as represented in the creeds of the early church." I would say that LC/RC are not in line with true Catholicism....so I'm confused by what you mean.
Posted by: Seeking Truth | September 24, 2012 at 07:08 PM
Thanks. Do you know what any of the negative experiences were? If you don't want to disclose, I understand completely. I keep stating that they are orthodox, but I think the problem is that they are not!! The true Catholics realized that something wasn't right, that they were sleazy and seductive and it was mostly the women and men in leadership positions who were misleading people. Then when one complains, they turn it around and begin the smear campaign. They are very odd.

anon out of RC!! I will help you with a DC area event...I am so sick of it all. Fr. John is also doing talks at Springhill this fall...it will never be over. I know so many who would come!!! Let's do it...

Milenio newspaper in Mexico will reveal in their printed edition that consecrated members are defaming Fr. Pablo Pedro Guajardo as a supposed alcoholic. Milenio points out the new strategy of the legionaries: defamation. It could be in their online edition soon.

Nothing new there.....defamation is one of the oldest games in town in the land of Legion.
Dehumanize the enemy by spreading malicious rumors about him, and ill treatment and beat-downs of all sorts become much easier on the consciences of the LCs/RCs.
"Poor man, let's all pray for him and his alcoholism problem" as they kick him right out the door and spit on him in the process.
These religious hoodlums learned from the best of the best, people--Maciel himself. They continue to honor the perverted criminal on a daily basis with their constant modeling of his abusive behavior.
This is the methodology. This is the "charism".
That the Church continues to not only tolerate but encourage this corrupt outfit does nothing but bring shame upon the instition.
How long, O Lord?!
