Quite an honour, and in Mexico where the greatest impact is possible:
The Mexico City International Festival of Documentary Films, DOCSDF, is pleased to announce the 2008 DOCSDF winners in various competitive categories.
DOCSDF wishes to thank and to acknowledge the effort and work of all the directors, both Mexican and foreign, who responded with such enthusiasm to our 2008 call-for-entries. The more than 700 works submitted display the vitality that the documentary filmmaking enjoys throughout the world, while also allowing us to become aware of different realities in the world in which we live. They invite us to reflect, to explore unfamiliar themes and to enter into often unknown worlds, to present extraordinary life stories, to explore the past and to bring it into the present, and to show that reality is often more compelling than fiction.
